While Australia bears many roots in Anglo-Celtic, European and Indigenous traditions, Australian music also boasts a rich influence from the Far East. This performance was a poetic juxtaposition of significant contemporary Japanese and Australian works from the flute repertory that highlighted this interplay between two cultures, from the choice of subject matter to the specific musical language.
