WEDNESDAY 27, THURSDAY 28, SATURDAY 30 JUNE, 7pm

BLOOMSBURY OPERA PRESENTS… EUGENE ONEGIN

@ Great Hall, London House, Mecklenburgh Square, WC1N 2AB

On 27, 28 & 30 June 2012 the Great Hall will resound to the strains of Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, this year’s offering from the College-based Bloomsbury Opera. Based on Pushkin’s novel- in-verse of the same title, this lyric opera centres on the eponymous hero whose careless attitude to friendship and love lead to his (later) greatly rued rejection of a young woman and a fatal duel with his best friend.

For these performances, we are delighted to be combining with the University of St Andrews Operatic Society – with half the leads being covered by our own College singers, Kate Sheppeard, Vivien Conacher and Maddie Sexton and half by those from over the border. Once more we are lucky enough to have College alumnae Jessica Cottis (on loan to us from her duties with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra) as our Musical Director, while the role of Artistic Director will be filled by internationally renowned choreographer Kally Lloyd-Jones.

All tickets for the Charity Gala Performance on 27 June are £30, while those for the two remaining nights are £8 for College members and £15 for guests.
